PEER tutoring

super tired now, but due to the responsibility as a class rep, i have to type it out by today since i am going to camp for 2 days starting from tomorrow... ... basically it is a program to help student to learn better as lecturer of our class are rather too rush a bit, and they cnt take care all of us one by one... ... through this program u cn either become a TUTOR and learn through tutoring o become a TUTEE and ask question and seek help from TUTOR.

detail o procedure which you should go through if you are interested:

1. please register if you are interested in this programme. you can find your own partner (whether is tutor o tutee). registration should be returned to programme office by 8th MAY.

2. for those who cnt find their partners there will be taken place in MAY.

3. Briefing and pairing up session will be taken place in MAY.

4. Training for tutors will be taken place in MAY.

5. Tutor have to do a min of 8 sessions ( min one hour each) from MAY 2009 till FEB 2010.

6. Tutor have to write progress reports of the tutee and Tutees have to write their learning journals.

7. Certificate will be issued to the Tutors.

8. Any request please talk to Mr Lucas.

General process of tutor tutee system

1. Tutor are introduced to certain pedagogy

2. teacher assigns partners or students select their own partners.

3. student follow a structured tutoring process.

4, tutor will be trained

tutee responsibilities are:

1 attend class (normal class) ur tutor is not ur GANTIAN to ur normal class

2. do your homework, and assignment before coming for tutoring session ( easier for tutor to tutor)

3. Bring material to the tutoring session ( textbook, notes)

4. communicate with your tutee so he or she is informed of any concerns arise related to the session.

5. keep inform your progress to the tutor

Criteria of TUTOR

1. possess subject knowledge

2. motivated, compassionate, patient and helpful

3. has the ability to give meaningful suggesstion. praise and encouragement

4, good coaching techniques and communication skills

TUTOR guideline

1, ask more than telll

2, focus on understanding rather than memorizing

3, always encourage tutee to consolidate information and build it on.

4 respect tutees

5. keep tutoring confidential ( dun keep bluffing about ur tutee or ur tutor lo)\
