PEER tutoring

super tired now, but due to the responsibility as a class rep, i have to type it out by today since i am going to camp for 2 days starting from tomorrow... ... basically it is a program to help student to learn better as lecturer of our class are rather too rush a bit, and they cnt take care all of us one by one... ... through this program u cn either become a TUTOR and learn through tutoring o become a TUTEE and ask question and seek help from TUTOR.

detail o procedure which you should go through if you are interested:

1. please register if you are interested in this programme. you can find your own partner (whether is tutor o tutee). registration should be returned to programme office by 8th MAY.

2. for those who cnt find their partners there will be taken place in MAY.

3. Briefing and pairing up session will be taken place in MAY.

4. Training for tutors will be taken place in MAY.

5. Tutor have to do a min of 8 sessions ( min one hour each) from MAY 2009 till FEB 2010.

6. Tutor have to write progress reports of the tutee and Tutees have to write their learning journals.

7. Certificate will be issued to the Tutors.

8. Any request please talk to Mr Lucas.

now i summarise some important notes for you guys to take into consideration whether you want to joining in this programme or not... ...

General process of tutor tutee system

1. Tutor are introduced to certain pedagogy

2. teacher assigns partners or students select their own partners.

3. student follow a structured tutoring process.

4, tutor will be trained

tutee responsibilities are:

1 attend class (normal class) ur tutor is not ur GANTIAN to ur normal class

2. do your homework, and assignment before coming for tutoring session ( easier for tutor to tutor)

3. Bring material to the tutoring session ( textbook, notes)

4. communicate with your tutee so he or she is informed of any concerns arise related to the session.

5. keep inform your progress to the tutor

Criteria of TUTOR

1. possess subject knowledge

2. motivated, compassionate, patient and helpful

3. has the ability to give meaningful suggesstion. praise and encouragement

4, good coaching techniques and communication skills

TUTOR guideline

1, ask more than telll

2, focus on understanding rather than memorizing

3, always encourage tutee to consolidate information and build it on.

4 respect tutees

5. keep tutoring confidential ( dun keep bluffing about ur tutee or ur tutor lo)\

Dear 0903 PM10,

I heard that some of you are facing some difficulties while doing the tutorial, don’t worry, don’t press the panic button. The purpose of giving you those questions are to allow you to learn chapter 3 through questions. You might not be able to find all the answers to the questions by just referring to my notes, you have to do some extra research on your own or maybe some thinking while doing those questions. Remember I have taught you guys on chapter 3 so use the knowledge and get involve in some analyzing and critical thinking and I believe you will be able to answer my questions. If all fail just show me that you have at least try to attempt those questions (Show me your effort). We are going to discuss the tutorial this coming Tuesday.

* Reminder: Class resumes this Tuesday (21/04/2009)
** Class test on: Chapter 1, 2 and 3(everything that I have taught you). 5 structured questions and 10 objective questions. Answer all in question paper. Duration: 1 hour.

this is just a simple tutorial for those who still don't know how to check our full timetable and class venue.

when u first login into student portal home page, u will c a "daily timetable" at ur right hand side... ... that is NOT ur real timetable... ... that timetable only will show u ur timetable for TODAY... ... everyday the timetable will change to ur Today's timetable, that is why you cnt c ur timetable at the right hand side on ur homepage in student portal today, becoz today is SATURDAY and we dont have any class... ... so supposingly there shd be no timetable for today (18/4)

then, where is our real timetable??? our timetable will show up our lesson of our class everyday, every hour in detail, even with our class venue and teacher's incharge... ...

THAT is our real timetable... ... 

first, login to our student portal, (if u forgot what is our student portal address, we have a hyperlink at our blogspot left hand side.) on the student portal home page upper part, u will c four links which is "HOME", "PROGRAMME", "SERVICES" and "HOSTEL". click "PROGRAMME" link, u will enter ur programme page, at the left hand side u will c a side bar which labelled "GO TO", the third icon actually leads us to our real timetable... ... 

due to some technical problem, i cnt actually copy the timetable and post it up here, but i hope that this blog spot help u guys find out ur real timetable... ...

oh, BTW, Mr Lucas Chan asked me to inform you guys that he had upload some important announcement on BB7, eventhough i find nth, but i think sooner or later we will find sth on BB7

2) there is one column in the SIF form (application for university), which request you guys to fill up the course that u wana pursue when you are at the university, you may leave it blank if you are not sure which course are you going to take. but the form is needed to pass up next friday which is 4/24/2009. pls pass it up on time. no excuse
3)there is a demand to request for teacher's handphone no, i am sorry but due to P&C reason, i cnt give up mr chan's no, i try to request him again. i will post up another announcement which includes all teacher's contact's no. and email address.

A F&F sunway trip

yo, is me again! your class rep... ...

today i join darren's trip to Sunway watching movie which is Fast and Furious... ... (F&F) 

i dont want to describe too much about the movie, as i dont want this blog being banned by authorities... ... anyway it is quite a nice movie, even it doesnt live up to my high expectation towards F n F series... ... 3.5 stars out of 5 stars.

this group is joined by Jess, Me, Chungren and Darren. which i would like to call this group "leftover" because they are left alone at SJ by those who went back to their hometown... ... haha

We got some serious fun at the sunway, eventhough we just sit at the cinema like potato couch nearly 90% of our trip, we end up fighting each other at the air hockey field... ... after watching Fast and Furious, we are actually fighting each other real fast and super duper real furious... ... seriously!!! dont believe?? watcha this

And since we are on the car driven by our MR Darren, so coincidentally, we just finish our Fast And Furious, things are getting real Fast in his car... ... and Real Funny

holiday, my feeling of becoming your rep

my english is poor SO please dont keep laughing at all my grammatical mistakes that i made in this blog.. ... since everyone is posting funny video, then i shd just follow andrew's step by posting some "words" about my experience and feeling as your class rep bah... ... SO

where should we start from here, yup... ... our precious holiday, we were spending our one whole week with one hour break, 8 to 3 everyday and powerranger in LAN classes and also chemistry extra class. we laugh and laugh and laugh, endless laughter. sometimes we fall asleep lo... ... rest is for a greater distance walk... ...

SO, we actually have a greater "intermolecular" bonding as time passed through, knowing that actually happens in our class makes me happy. (for those who still dont know our class blogspot, u cn click this link frm here to enter our blogspot- )

most of us are actually keep going to the same restaurant for lunch these few days. the first venue that we had our lunch is at face to face noodle shop, where the burning ass finally being discover by our andrew. and then having taiwanese food at the little taiwan. our next target will be 32 students of pm10 going to the same restaurant, including our teachers, such as MR Lucas. ( he is booked by our treasurer, so other girls you have no chance to win his heart already)

still quite miserable and sad while everyone is going back to their hometown, except me still waiting here, lonely and stupidly. and everyone is "fang wo fei gei" for not going to sunway pyramid, yet on monday which is yesterday some ppl actually go shopping at the sunway pyramid. (BTW, yong teng spent at least RM300 during the trip to Sunway, OMG! it was like throwing money into the rejang river. Rejang River is in Sarawak, not in Sabah, pls, common sense) and our maths coordinator is having a relationship with our little yong teng. their story including having romantic dinner together everyday, even sharing an umbrella during the rainy day.

one funny thing that happen when i stayed at yong teng house, is i was being locked out at his house, meanwhile i left my handphone inside his room. (yongteng that time is having a date with yen li)As i am having two large luggage with me, i was unable to walk bek to Etiara(my real accomodation, next to carrefour), that is why i climb into his house's balcony while wearing a hat. Just then, he and yenli saw a large, dark figure around his house (which by the way is me), quickly assume that i am a theif and start shouting at me... ... luckily i was not arrested that night. damn shit ah him.

another thing is the incident of cockroaches inside his house... ... i swear he cried when he saw the cockroaches, i admit, even i myself is totally freaked out by the moment... ... two cockroaches in 5 days... ... isnt that another genius record??
however we are having a good time staying together, especially going starbucking together while studying, it is truthly the unforgettable study experience that i ever had it before.

And also, i had join rebekah to her church watching a drama called beyond tears, it is indeed a memorable moment for both of us... ...

happy to be your rep, may we all the best in our a level. and i have no idea y i cnt post the photos, got some technical error... ...
