GIC is offering scholarship to students who wish to pursue studies in fund management or actuarial studies or even engineering.
GIC Global Scholarship
If you are interested in a career in the fund management industry and are looking for a prestigious scholarship, the GIC Global Scholarship is for you!
A Distinct Scholarship
The GIC Global Scholarship prepares you for a career in the exciting world of fund management. Depending on your interest and aptitude, you will join GIC either as an investment professional or a corporate services professional upon graduation. As a GIC Scholar, you are free to choose from a wide range of courses at university. During vacations, you will be given exposure and training through attachments to our local and overseas offices, as well as some of the world's top fund management companies. You will also attend in-house training programmes that will provide you with a good grounding on subjects like finance, economics and accounting. Upon graduation, you will begin your career with GIC either as an Investment Officer, or as a Senior Officer in one of GIC's corporate services departments. As an Investment Officer, you will be placed on a comprehensive training programme and rotated to different departments where you will acquire cross-disciplinary skills. As a Corporate Services Senior Officer, you will be groomed to take up management positions in our corporate services departments.
Requirements
We welcome applications from all nationalities. You must have consistently outstanding academic records. Good grades are, however, not the only criteria. You must have an outstanding extra-curricular record, and qualities such as leadership, a desire to excel and team spirit.
Value of Award
We offer scholarships for a wide range of courses, ranging from Business Administration, Economics, Finance/Banking, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering and Accountancy, to Psychology and English Literature. You can choose to study at premier universities in the US, UK, Germany and Japan. The value of the award depends on the country of study. It includes tuition fees and allowances for lodging, maintenance, clothing and books. We will also provide medical insurance coverage, excess baggage allowance, return air ticket and other expenses incurred in the course of study. The scholarships are tenable for 4 years.
Conditions of Award
There is a 5- or 6-year repayment period after you successfully complete your studies (5 years for those studying in Japan or Germany and 6 years for those studying in US or UK).
